In Cathay Marine, we believe in providing our office staff, as well as seafarers working onboard our vessels, a healthy and safe working environment. We made health and safety our first priority. We promote a culture of health and safety responsibility and awareness through health screening, trainings, familiarization, safety drills, safety work procedures and safety checklists, as well as relevant risk assessment of the task to be performed.

Vessel inspections and audit checks are carried out regularly by our Superintendent, as well as external inspectors, to verify the implementation of the safety management system onboard the vessels.

At Cathay Marine, we know every act counts. Sustainability is a key consideration while we make our investment and operational decisions, and the impact on the environment, our employees, our customers and business partners, our supply chain and the community we operate in.

We conduct our business with integrity and responsibility, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. It governs the way we interact with our customers, our suppliers, our business partners and our communities.

We cultivate a strong and positive health and safety culture and work practices within the organization (in the office and onboard the vessels). Operational safety is of upmost importance as we seek to protect our environment from pollution or harm, as well as protecting the asset of our customers while delivering our services to our customers.

We strive to operate our business in a safe and responsible manner in support of our industry’s goals. Implementation of safety culture and work practices in our Organization is part of our strategy of helping to ensure the sustainability of the Environment.

Local Community

We believe our company’s existence is not lonely, but part of a bigger community of people, values, other organizations and nature. We have in place Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) company program which outlines our efforts to give back to the world as it gives to us. We regularly contribute funds, if not, manpower to various cause of social community activities. We pledge and will continue with our CSR program.

Our success is driven by our employee and their commitment. We value our employees (office and seafarers working on board our vessels) and care for their well-being and development. We believe in providing our employees a safe and conducive working environment while they work and develop with us and their families.

Complaint procedure is established whereby our employees (office or seafarers) are able to voice their grievances (including bullying and harassment) to the management team. All complaints will be attended to and treated in a strictly confidential manner. The employee will not be disadvantaged or discriminated against by reason of making a complaint.
